Gary is a seasoned veteran of three separate startups. He sold two of those companies to publicly traded companies and the third to a federally regulated bank. These companies include two mortgage companies and a real estate investment/construction company. He has extensive experience in the areas of startups, turnarounds, mergers and acquisitions.
Gary started in the mortgage industry in 1987 with the oldest and largest mortgage lender in the Washington, D.C. area, B.F. Saul Mortgage. He completed the prestigious B.F. Saul management training program.
His first job in the training program was as a processor, sitting at a desk, using an old-fashioned typewriter to fill out VOEs, VODs etc. He then worked as an underwriter, closer, appraiser, and in most other departments at the company.
After finishing the year-long training program, he became a loan officer and did 150 units his first year: all self-sourced, realtor referred. He then became a VP/Branch manager, SVP/Regional manager and finally went on to start three separate companies from scratch, selling two of those to publicly traded companies and the third to a federally regulated bank.
Jonathan graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing. Jonathan’s focus is retirement planning, employee benefits, risk management and investment services.
